Take your teaching to the next level
Scholarships support experienced VET educators to strengthen their teaching, assessment and learner support skills through nationally recognised Training and Assessment (TAE) training. Designed for busy educators, these scholarships help you build advanced capability in practical, flexible ways, while improving outcomes for your learners and your organisation.

What are Scholarships?
Scholarships provide funded access to nationally recognised Training and Assessment (TAE) training that builds advanced teaching capability in key areas of practice.
In 2026, educators can apply for one of three skill sets:
- TAESS00025 Learning Support skill set – strengthen your ability to support diverse learners
- TAESS00031 Design and Deliver eLearning skill set – build capability in online and blended delivery
- TAESS00032 Advanced Assessment skill set – improve the quality, consistency and confidence of assessment practice.
Each skill set is designed to:
- focus on practical, job-ready skills that you can apply straight away and address real challenges faced by VET educators
- support high-quality and inclusive training
- provide a pathway toward the TAE50122 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (VET).
Scholarships are for VET educators in South Australia who:
- are currently delivering training to South Australian learners
- want to deepen their teaching, assessment or learner support skills
- are committed to improving learner outcomes and professional practice.
You can apply as an individual or be nominated by your organisation.
These scholarships are ideal for educators who:
- are looking to refresh or extend their teaching practice
- want practical, flexible professional development
- are ready to progress to the Diploma of VET.
Each scholarship provides a fully subsidised place in a selected TAE skill set with a select provider, along with a $500 grant to support your individual study needs and release time.
The scholarship also supports opportunities to learn alongside other experienced educators and connecting with peers.
Guidelines will be published and an online application form made available when scholarship rounds open.
As part of the application, you will be asked to:
- select your preferred skill set
- outline your motivation and development goals
- demonstrate how the training will improve your practice and benefit learners.
The next scholarship round will open in July 2026.
Applications are assessed through a competitive process.
Assessment considers:
- your motivation and commitment to professional development
- how the skill set aligns with your current role and teaching practice
- the potential impact on learner outcomes and teaching quality
- your ability to apply and share what you learn within your organisation.
Selection aims to support a diverse group of educators across industries, regions and experience levels.
First round: applications open in July 2026.
